Our bums and buns are deep in the butter around here these days.
It started, years ago, with Snapparazzi…
This feature has grown pretty popular because it hands out so much money…
We secretly take the picture of ANYONE…ANYWHERE in the country.
Then we run it on an inside page.
If the unsuspecting man or woman finds themselves in the paper and contacts us on publishing day before a certain time then…BINGO!…the Jackpot is theirs.
What the happy winner has to do is phone in to our offices and say where and when he/she was when the picture was taken.
The jackpot starts at R1 000.
If the winner doesn’t claim the loot in time, it goes up by R500 a day…there will be another winner tomorrow.
So far as I can remember it’s NEVER gone beyond R2 500…and that doesn’t happen often.
That means, of course, that no Snapparazzi has EVER run for more than four days without finding a winner.
And remember…this thing runs nation-wide.
It’s a sign of Daily Sun’s popularity – and of course the competition’s as well – despite the so-called circulation slump…
Snapparazzi is a pretty neat competition – as they might say in High Schools in the Americas – but it just got better.
From this week there are TWO!
The other is brought to SunLand courtesy of Nando’s. They’ve teamed up with us to support a new product – a big soft bun called a Kota which brims with good things for lunch.
If our secretive photographer catches you in a Nando’s with a kota…you will win R1 000 – and it will jackpot by R1 000 a day until it’s won! Also, you can win Nando’s vouchers off our Facebook page, every day, if you’re spotted with one of their funny posters as your profile pic.
Viva Nando’s!
I hope their kota sales go through the roof.
Not only does their competition add a new sparkle to the Daily Sun editorial offering…it adds a whole lot of new excitement to our advertising offering as well.
Everyone knows how Nando’s goes for it. Their campaign, a cleverly crafted “rip-off” of the paper, called the Daily Bun, is hilarious.
And, you can be sure that there will be more jokes about people’s buns than you can shake a stick at!
May it all work for them again.
And I hope they move a helluva lot of kotas in that marvellous junction where SunLand and Nando’sLand have come together as spring draws closer…
Regards
